"Sculpture is something you bump into when you back up to look at a painting.” Said Adolph Reinhardt (American, 1913-1967)
This is true, when sculpture is confined to museums, but it has the opportunity to become much greater than that. In my work I strive to not only create a beautiful object but to place it within a context that guides you towards and around the piece both physically and emotionally. Using cast materials that encourage a tactile interaction, lighting that illuminates the imagination and structures and spaces that create a threshold over which one crosses into to create an experience that goes beyond a solitary statue.
Be good.
